The new spBackup version 1.2.1 includes these great new features:

• Now supports PHP 5
• Back up files in subdirectories and whole subdirectories without backing up the entire directory chain
• Graphical installer, so no more editing of configuration files
• Graphical configuration screens to customize many of the features and functions of the program.
• Updated archiving code now supports tar/gz and tar/bz2 files, in addition to the default zip format
• Updated mailer code now supports SMTP and SMTP Authentication
• Updated FTP code now supports your choice of active or passive mode and custom FTP ports
• Temporary files are now saved to system temp directory, if it's available and writeable, otherwise to spbackuptemp (or whatever you configure).
• New debug mode (enable with config screens) that outputs messages during back up operation
• Plus many minor fixes and changes
